To demonstrate overwhelming majority support for a womans
right to choose safe, legal abortion and birth control, the largest pro-choice
majority in history will march on Washington on Sunday April 25, 2004. Find more

North Carolina Information
While the national site will put you in touch with the up to date
information about the march, including information on how to organize a delegation
from your community, here's what's already happening in NC.
If you are planning to go but are not arranging transportation
through one of these groups, be sure to register your delegation through www.marchforwomen.org
or contact one of the NC organizers so there can be an accurate prediction of
the support in the state.
Planned
Parenthood of Central NC
Buses will be leaving from Raleigh, Fayetteville, Charlotte
and Asheville. Check www.raleighnow.org,
or find your local chapter through www.now.org.

NOW and Planned Parenthood are both sponsoring buses from Asheville. One NOW
bus will leave at 8 am on Saturday morning with an overnight stay in Takoma Park,
MD. The other will leave very early Sunday morning to reach DC for the March.
Price is $60 for the bus plus a small fee for overnight accommodations sleeping
on a gym floor. Call Melissa (828-216-4137) or Barbara (828-285-0565) for more
information about the buses (and options for a stay at the Takoma Park Econo Lodge).
The Planned Parenthood bus will leave at midnight before the March and return
following the March. Price is $60. Contact Jeanette Phillips (828-252-7928) for
more information.

MEETUPS
Several communities across the state are participating in the "First and
Third Tuesday Meetups". See marchforwomen.meetup.com.
These Internet scheduled meetings in public places have been or will be scheduled
in Asheville, Charlotte, Fayetteville, Goldsboro, Greensboro, Greenville, Hickory,
Jacksonville, New Bern, Raleigh-Durham, Roanoke Rapids, Rocky Mount, and Wilmington.
