2006 Advocacy Day

Overview

Women's Advocacy Day 2006 was a huge success, bringing women from across the state to Raleigh to lobby on issues that impact women's lives.

Participants in front of the Legislative Building

Over 100 activists participated in the day's events, which included an advocacy training, press conference, and meetings with legislators. Many elected officials attended and some spoke on our behalf, including Lt Governor Beverly Perdue. Highlighted issues included the Women's Health Services Fund, increasing the minimum wage, funding for sexual assault services, and ensuring education access for minorities.

NC Women United's 2006 Advocacy Day was Tuesday, June 20.
