President Jennifer Bumgarner presided. No one dialed into the meeting, but we are looking at providing better dial-in for future meetings in this room.

Will Polk, Director, Victims and Citizens Services Section in the Attorney General's Office of the North Carolina Department of Justice, gave an presentation "Understanding Human Trafficking". [Copy of Mr. Polk's slides.]

The Just Ask for Justice Coalition (see overview) asked NCWU to join the coalition. This request had been approved as consistent with NCWU goals by the Policy Council, and information was distributed to the members on Oct. 18. Paige Johnson moved that NCWU join coalition, and the motion passed by a vote of 9 to 3.

Next meeting: December 5, 2005 at noon; upstairs at Interact; release party for the Legislative Report Card.
