From: Veronica Butcher <veronica@nccasa.org> HB 1042 Address Confidentiality Program The House Judiciary II Committee is expected to hear and vote on HB 1402 Address Confidentiality Program. Attorney General Roy Cooper initiated this bill to protect the confidentiality of the addresses of relocated victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, or stalking. This program would designate a substitute address for a program participant and act as the agent of the program participant for purposes of receiving and forwarding first-class mail. State and local agencies would use the address designated by the Attorney General as the program participant's substitute address when creating new public records.
