2011 Advocacy Day Agenda

The 2011 Women’s Advocacy Day will be held on March 1, 2011. The  keynote address will be delivered by Ms. Lilly Ledbetter, the namesake of the “Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act”. This was the first bill signed by President Obama upon taking office in 2009.


8:15a – 9:00a Registration outside of the Legislative Building third floor auditorium. (We regret that, due to building regulations, we cannot serve breakfast.)

9:00a -10:30a Opening session featuring keynote address by Lilly Ledbetter in the Legislative Building auditorium. This will be followed by a lobby training with registered lobbyists Paige Johnson and Melissa Reed.

9:00a – 2:00p Visits with your legislators! The most important component of any lobby day is constituent meetings with legislators. Schedule your meetings and make these visits as scheduled throughout the day.

10:30a – 2:00p Issue experts available for consult in the 1100 Court of the Legislative Building.

11:30a Press conference in the Legislative Building press room featuring Lilly Ledbetter and legislative speakers. 

2:00pm  The House and Senate convene. Join us on the third floor once again to watch session from the gallery.
